130 jobs lost as Air Belgium becomes Air One Belgium

The airline Air Belgium is not taking over the cabin crew in its new structure Air One Belgium. As a result, nearly 130 people will lose their jobs.
Late last year, it became known that the airline Air Belgium, which had been in financial difficulties for some time, would continue its cargo operations under the name Air One Belgium. This change followed the takeover by a consortium of the Dutch PESO Aviation Management and the UK-based Air One Holding International.
197 of Air Belgium's 401 staff, including pilots on an independent basis, will remain on board. But not the cabin crew, it was decided. They had been economically unemployed since late October.
The restart of the company is scheduled for late March or early April. Air One Belgium will operate with four cargo aircraft from Brussels Airport.
