Antwerp to co-host EuroBasket Women 2027

The Belgian city of Antwerp will host one of the four pools in the group stage of the 2027 EuroBasket Women tournament, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced on Thursday.

FIBA had already named Lithuania and Finland as hosts last November, but was looking for two more cities to host the group stage. Besides Belgium, Slovakia and Sweden also submitted bids, but the candidacy of the Slovak capital of Bratislava was not retained.

The 2027 tournament will be held from 16 to 27 June. Next summer, the Belgian Cats hope to defend their title at EuroBasket 2025, which will be hosted by Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic and Germany.
