Belgian Baldur's Gate 3 big winner at BAFTA Games Awards
The Belgian-produced video game Baldur's Gate 3 took home five prizes at the 20th annual British Academy Video Game Awards in London on Thursday evening. The award ceremony was organised by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
Baldur's Gate 3, by Ghent-based game developer Larian Studios, won the prizes for Best Game, Best Music and Best Story. Actor Andrew Wincott was named Best Supporting Performer for his voice role in the game. The game also won the EE Players' Choice Award, the audience prize.
Baldur's Gate 3 is a role-playing game where the players take on the role of the main character. It takes place in a fantasy world based on the Middle Ages.
In December, Baldur's Gate 3 won six awards at the Game Awards 2023 in Los Angeles. Since the game was released in August, more than 10 million copies have been sold.
