Belgian skier seriously injured in Austrian hit-and-run collision

A 31-year-old Belgian woman was seriously injured on Saturday after being struck by two men while skiing on a blue slope in the Kitzbuhel ski area near Jochberg, Austria. The two individuals fled the scene, and Austrian police have launched a search to locate them.

The woman was with her 32-year-old partner when the incident occurred. One skier collided with her, causing her to fall, while another skied over her left hand and part of her face.

The woman sustained severe injuries and was given initial medical treatment before being transported to St. Johann regional hospital. Due to the severity of her condition, she was later transferred to Innsbruck hospital.

Her partner was unable to provide a description of the suspects, who remain at large. Police are calling for witnesses to come forward.
