Belgian thriller La nuit se traîne wins jury prize at Rome Film Festival
The Belgian thriller La nuit se traîne, directed by Michiel Blanchart, has won the Jury Prize at the Rome Film Festival, production company Lumière announced on Monday.
Set against the backdrop of Brussels, La nuit se traîne tells the story of Mady, a student who works as a locksmith by night. His world turns upside down when he inadvertently opens the wrong door, becoming embroiled in a dangerous criminal scheme. The film features French actor Jonathan Feltre in the lead role, supported by Romain Duris.
The film is currently travelling to various European film festivals after winning the Audience Award in June at the Biarritz International Film Festival Nouvelles Vagues. La nuit se traîne has already attracted over 40,000 viewers in Belgium, underscoring its resonance with local audiences, Lumière said.
Before stepping into feature-length projects, Blanchart gained recognition with his short film T’es morte Hélène, which was longlisted for the 2022 Oscars.
