Car show kicks off in Ghent with spectacular lineup

The Belgian Auto Show opened on Thursday at Flanders Expo in Ghent, with organisers expecting around 90,000 visitors over the weekend.
“There are more than 500 cars to admire,” says organiser Laurits van den Broek. “From hypercars worth 4 million euros to iconic movie cars and an extensive collection of tuning cars. The audience is extremely diverse: families, classic car enthusiasts and fans of influencers such as Enzo Knol and PoG. There really is something for everyone.”
One of the highlights is the drift show, the only one of its kind in Belgium. “We have drifters from the Netherlands and Belgium, and even the European champion is here,” Van den Broek said.

A striking addition is the Belgian army’s presence with an F-16 fighter jet. “It was there last year, and the aircraft is making an appearance again,” says Van den Broek. “The army uses this as a way to showcase their presence and recruit people. It is, of course, impressive to see an F-16 up close.”
