Bernard Gustin to become next CEO of grid operator Elia
Belgian high-voltage group Elia has announced that its current chair, Bernard Gustin, will lead the company from 15 January. Gustin has been an independent director and chairman of Elia Group since 2017.
Elia has been looking for a new CEO since last year, when former CEO Chris Peeters left to join bpost. His successor, Gustin, was CEO of Brussels Airlines between 2012 and 2018. He is also executive chair of freight rail operator Lineas since 2022, a position he will not be leaving.
The company also announced that current interim CEO and CFO Catherine Vandenborre will leave the company. The new CFO will be Marco Nix, who joins from German subsidiary 50Hertz. Geert Versnick, current deputy chair of the group, will become chair ad interim.
Elia Group is the operator of the high-voltage grid in Belgium and in northern and eastern Germany.
