Brussels Airlines pilots threaten strike action

Brussels Airlines pilots have joined the airline's cabin crew in threatening strike action over the Christmas holidays. Strikes may take place from 11 December, the Christian union ACV Puls said.
"The pilots intend to strike if there is no solution to a number of problems," said Jolinde Defieuw of ACV Puls. "These problems mainly concern work pressure and lack of rest."
The Brussels Airlines cabin crew issued a strike notice last week. They are threatening to strike during the Christmas holidays over "deep-seated dissatisfaction" with management's alleged failure to honour a number of collective agreements. The cabin crew are also demanding a pay adjustment.
The airline's management reacted with surprise to some of the demands, but said it was "determined to find solutions". Further talks between pilots, cabin crew and management are scheduled for the end of November.
