Brussels Airport cancels all departing flights on 31 March due to strike

Due to the general strike on 31 March, none of the nearly 250 scheduled departing passenger flights will take off that day at Brussels Airport. Arriving flights will also be affected.
The nationwide strike is being organised in protest at a series of measures by the federal government to reform pensions and the labour market.
Brussels Airport expects that, as in previous actions, many security and ground handling staff will strike. “To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, we have decided, in consultation with the airlines, not to operate any departing passenger flight on 31 March,” a spokesperson said. In total, 244 departing flights are affected.
Airlines will contact passengers whose flight has been impacted. Brussels Airport is asking passengers not to come to the airport on that day.
Cancellations are also possible on arriving flights. Passengers can check the status of their flight with their airline or via the Brussels Airport website.
