Brussels Bright Festival's 7th edition ends tonight
The seventh edition of Brussels Bright Festival started last Thursday night and ends this Sunday, February 19, at 11 PM in three different locations. The Royal, European and Lehon districts, up to Avenue Louis Bertrand in Schaerbeek, will be illuminated from 7 PM. This is the first time that the meeting will extend to the municipality of Schaerbeek and will highlight the Art Nouveau heritage of the capital.
The year 2023 has been declared the year of Art Nouveau in Brussels and the Bright Festival also pays its tribute on three special tracks. One of the highlights is the revival of Victor Horta's Maison du Peuple. Light projections will bring the historic building (which no longer exists) back to life in the same place where it was: rue Joseph Stevens, at the end of the Sablon.
The three routes in this seventh edition take visitors through two neighbourhoods and the city of Schaerbeek. The European route focuses on the Parc du Cinquantenaire and Parc Léopold, while the royal route mostly remains around the Mont des Arts. In the streets of Schaerbeek, light installations can be seen around Saint-Servais church and Josaphat park.
Public transport company Stib is providing a specially lit tram for the occasion on lines 92 and 93 to and from Schaerbeek.
