Brussels museums gear up for annual Night Fever celebration

Almost 30 museums in Brussels will open late on Saturday for the latest edition of Museum Night Fever, with a special programme of events planned for the evening.

Autoworld, BELvue museum, MIMA, the Belgian Comic Strip Museum and Bozar are among the venues taking part. The night will close with a party at nightclub C12 and Botanique.

The Museum of the National Bank and the House of European History are dedicated to the Roaring Twenties for the night, with swing dancing, cabaret, jazz music and a historical costume party.

Opera house La Monnaie offers a behind-the-scenes look at its studios and the Guild of Crossbowmen is organising shooting demonstrations. There will be beer tastings at Belgian Beer World in the Bourse building and the Schaerbeek Beer Museum, while CINEMATEK will be exploring connectedness with performances and film screenings.

More than 100 artists and collectives will take part in the event, which attracts an increasingly international audience, the organisers say.

Tickets are available from the website and are valid for an extra museum visit until 24 November.
