Emma Plasschaert wins bronze at ILCA 6 World Championship
Emma Plasschaert won the bronze medal at the ILCA 6 World Championship in Mar del Plata, Argentina on Wednesday. On the final day she climbed from fourth to third in the overall standings, thanks to a fourth place in the medal race.
The thirty-year-old Belgian finished behind Denmark's Anne-Marie Rindom, also the reigning Olympic champion, who won the fourth world title of her career. The silver medal went to American Charlotte Rose.
This is Plasschaert's fourth medal at a World Championships. She became world champion in Aarhus in 2018 and in Al Mussanah in 2021, and won bronze in Kemah in 2022. Plasschaert finished sixth in Scheveningen last year, good enough for a ticket to the Paris Olympics.
