European Parliament hosts second edition of 'Make Europe Great Again' conference

The second edition of the Make Europe Great Again (MEGA) conference, organised by the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), continues on Wednesday at the European Parliament in Brussels.
Following its inaugural event in Bucharest in April 2024, the conference brings together key political and institutional figures to discuss innovation, cooperation and unity in Europe.
The ECR, a Eurosceptic and conservative group in the European Parliament, advocates EU reform based on Eurorealism, transparency, accountability and democracy. Organisers describe the event as a platform for influential voices to debate pressing issues shaping the future of Europe.
Diverse line-up
The conference features several panel discussions on political, economic and security challenges. Key sessions focus on the impact of new media on politics and elections, EU-US relations under the new Trump administration, cultural ties, economic development and security along Europe's borders.
The event features a diverse line-up of politicians, journalists and academics. Among the scheduled participants are MEPs Marion Maréchal and George Simion, American academic Dr Robert Malone, Belgian professor and author David Engels, Republicans for National Renewal executive director Mark Ivanyo and Kimberly Fletcher, the founder of Moms for America.
Meanwhile, the Flemish Parliament will also host a meeting on Thursday, when the far-right and conservative Patriots Network will hold a conference at the invitation of the Vlaams Belang party.
The international organisation brings together nationalist politicians to discuss global political developments. The network is also planning events in Berlin in February and Amsterdam in March.
