European survey shows Belgians commute the furthest and spend most time travelling

Commuters in Belgium spend the most time travelling and travel the furthest of European employees to get to work, according to a study by HR company SD Worx.
The company surveyed 18,000 people in 18 European countries, including more than 1,000 people in Belgium.
On average, Belgian commuters make a round trip of 39km to get to their workplace, with half of respondents travelling more than 25km a day. The average in the study was 30km.
The average commute time is 53 minutes a day in Belgium, compared to a study average of 47 minutes. In Sweden, Romania and the UK it is 52 minutes, in Italy 51 minutes and in Denmark 50.
Despite these figures, two-thirds of people in Belgium say they are satisfied with their commute.
