Festival Les Ardentes in Liège expects to welcome around 220,000 people
Les Ardentes, which kicks off today/Thursday, expects to welcome around 220,000 people during the four days of the music festival. The festival takes place at Rocourt, a sub-municipality of the city of Liège.
From 11 to 14 July, the festival will bring international artists such as Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat and DJ Snake to Liège. In total, more than 120 acts are scheduled to perform at this 17th edition. The festival focuses on hip-hop, rap and other urban music.
Nearly 55,000 festival-goers are expected each day. Many of them come from France. "We are at 40 per cent Belgians, 40 per cent French and 20 per cent from the rest of the world," explained spokesperson Jean-Yves Reumont. "For the French, this is the only festival where there is both a lot of French rap and international headliners that you won't find anywhere else."
This year, there will be more shaded areas on the site, Reumont added. "There are two tents offering shelter in bad weather or from the sun. We have also tripled the number of free drinking water points on the festival site."
There are still some tickets available. More information can be found on the festival's website: www.lesardentes.be.
