Four people injured in Brussels shooting, police say no indication of terrorism
Four people were injured in a shooting on Avenue de la Toison d’Or in Brussels on Wednesday evening, Brussels police have confirmed. Previous police reports had said there were three victims. There are no indications that terrorism is involved.
“At around 7.30pm we received a report of a shooting on Avenue de la Toison d’Or,” said police spokesperson Ilse Van de Keere. “Our services immediately went to the scene. Three people were wounded. A perimeter was set up.”
When police teams arrived, the perpetrator was no longer at the scene. Several ambulances are on site to treat the wounded.
One of the victims was reported to have been found near the Galerie Toison d’Or, a second outside the Apple Store and a third in Rue des Chevaliers.
“At the current stage, there are no indications that this is an act of terrorism,” another police spokesperson said.
