France to hold new talks on Ukraine - Belgium and key allies join in

France will host a second round of talks on the situation in Ukraine on Wednesday, with Belgium expected to join the talks, diplomatic sources told Reuters.
On Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron convened around ten European and NATO leaders in Paris to coordinate a response to the sudden diplomatic rapprochement between the US and Russia. European nations fear being sidelined in negotiations over Ukraine's future, as US President Donald Trump appears keen to shift responsibility for the country's security onto them.
Macron is expected to invite a second group of countries on Wednesday, including Belgium, Norway, Canada, the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania), the Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, Romania and Sweden. Some leaders may participate via videoconference, including Belgian PM Bart de Wever (N-VA).
