François Hollande presents book in Brussels during lecture on consequences of war
François Hollande (Parti Socialiste) is coming to Brussels on 10 November to speak about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and its consequences. The former French president will simultaneously present his new book "Bouleversements, pour comprendre la nouvelle donne mondiale".
François Hollande will be a guest on 10 November at the Villa Empain of the Boghossian Foundation, a centre for art and dialogue between Eastern and Western culture in Brussels. The politician will address topics also covered in his book "Bouleversements, pour comprendre la nouvelle donne mondiale", such as our relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, discussions with allies, the potential dangers threatening the world order and the new balance of power between established and emerging powers.
Furthermore, the former French president sheds light on the potential power and means of democracies to confront autocracies, and how we should see the new war in relation to the great challenges of our century. These include climate change, rising inequality, the fragility of democracies, and the rise of populism and nationalism in many countries.
François Hollande's lecture will take place on Thursday 10 November at the Villa Empain at 3.30 pm. There will also be a book signing after the lecture. Tickets are on sale via the Villa Empain website. The event will also be available online.
