Free entry to Belgian Beer World for Brussels residents
Residents of Brussels will get free entry to Belgian Beer World for two weeks in November, the city has announced.
The museum, which opened last year in the Bourse building in central Brussels, explores Belgium’s beer culture, recognised as Unesco intangible heritage.
Admission includes entry to the recently renovated Bruxella 1238 museum, an archaeological site housing the remnants of a 13th-century Franciscan convent. Artefacts and graves unearthed during excavations from 1988 to 2022 are displayed in a new exhibition.
The convent endured European religious wars and the 1695 bombardment of Brussels by Louis XIV’s troops. Declared national property in the late 18th century, it was later dismantled to construct the Stock Exchange building after moving from the Marché au Beurre.
Free admission is available once per person between 12 and 25 November upon presentation of an ID card showing Brussels residency.
