Galleries and collectors gather in Brussels for 70th edition of BRAFA art fair

Some 130 exhibitors from 16 countries will be in Brussels from Sunday for the 70th edition of the BRAFA art fair.
This year’s event focuses on celebration and joy, through the huge colourful installations of the guest of honour, Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos.
The fair will also see the launch of a collaboration with the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage. Each day, the institute will offer public workshops on the conservation of works of art.
Renowned galleries, some of whom have been participating since the first fairs, will also be present for the anniversary edition. Among them are Antwerp gallery N Vrouyr, which specialises in carpets and textiles, and Axel Vervoordt, whose stands combine archaeology, designer furniture and contemporary works.
New exhibitors will also be present, including London gallery Stoppenbach & Delestre, which specialises in French Impressionist art, print dealer Colnaghi, and Sweden's Hoffman Antiques, a specialist in Gustavian furniture.
The event takes place at Brussels Expo from Sunday until 2 February.
