Joy Donné steps down as CEO of Flanders Investment and Trade
Joy Donné is stepping down as CEO of Flanders Investment and Trade after just two years of his six-year term. Donné announced his departure in an internal email seen by Belga.
Donné could not be reached for comment on Thursday, but he confirmed his departure in an interview with De Tijd. "I could have done this until I retired, but I am not someone who is glued to his chair," he said.
Donné, an MP for the Flemish nationalist part N-VA, was head of cabinet for federal Security and Home Affairs minister Jan Jambon between 2014 and 2018. He says he did not resign to join a potential federal government with N-VA but because he needs time for himself.
Piet Demunter, former COO of Brussels Airport, will take over temporarily while the Flemish government looks for a CEO. The process will have to wait until the next government is formed.
