Lost Frequencies becomes first Belgian artist to hit 1bn Spotify streams

DJ and record producer Felix De Laet, known by his stage name Lost Frequencies, is the first Belgian artist to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify. His song Where Are You Now has been played more than 1,003,000,000 times.

De Laet's management announced the record in a press release on Tuesday. The 29-year-old from Brussels was also the first Belgian artist to score a No 1 hit in the UK with his breakthrough song Are You With Me in 2014.

"I am incredibly grateful for the love and support of my fans around the world," said Lost Frequencies. "It is truly an honour to see my music reach such a large audience on Spotify. This is a testament to the power of music to bring people together."

Next Friday, Lost Frequencies will release his new single, Dive, a collaboration with English singer-songwriter Tom Gregory.
