Mini-Europe inaugurates two Polish monuments

Two new Polish monuments were inaugurated on Wednesday in the Mini-Europe theme park in Brussels. They are miniature versions of the Palace on the Isle and the Chopin Monument in Warsaw.
The two monuments are located in Lazienki Park, the largest park in the Polish capital. Their 1:25 scale replicas were added to the replicas of two monuments from Gdansk, the Artus Court and the Three Crosses Monument, inaugurated in 2004 when Poland joined the European Union.
"At Mini-Europe we really try to highlight what brings Europeans together"
The new monuments were unveiled as Poland holds the presidency of the Council of Europe this year. "At Mini-Europe we really try to highlight what brings Europeans together and we can really see that we have a common history, culture and heritage," said Vincianne Meeus, managing director of the theme park.
Situated at the foot of the Atomium in Brussels, Mini-Europe houses some 350 reproductions of European monuments from around 80 different cities. The miniature park opened in 1989 and attracts around 350,000 visitors a year.
