New protests at Israeli embassy in Uccle after police crackdown
For the third day in a row, hundreds of people have gathered at the Israeli embassy in Uccle. The group, which mainly consists of students, are protesting against the war in Gaza and demanding sanctions against Israel.
Several hundred demonstrators gathered in front of the Israeli embassy in Uccle on Thursday. The demonstration has been largely peaceful, with people dancing and singing, sitting on the ground and making peace signs, and waving Palestinian scarves.
It is the third consecutive day of protests in front of the embassy. On Tuesday and Wednesday, police deployed water cannon and used tear gas to disperse the protesters. A collective complaint was filed against the local police zone and the mayor by five people who were injured on Tuesday.
On Thursday, both the mayor and the police attended the scene, with the police ready to intervene if the situation escalates. Meanwhile, on social media, manuals on how to deal with police violence are circulating and tips are being exchanged on how to protect oneself from tear gas and water cannon, as well as how demonstrators can protect each other.
