New shooting at Clemenceau metro station leaves one person injured
Another shooting occurred at Clemenceau metro station in Anderlecht early Thursday morning, less than 24 hours after a similar incident nearby, leaving one person injured. The Brussels public prosecutor and mayor of Anderlecht confirmed the news to RTBF.
The shooting took place around 04:00, leaving one person injured, said Julien Moinil, the Brussels public prosecutor and Anderlecht mayor, Fabrice Crumps. Unlike Wednesday’s incident, metro traffic was not disrupted, though one entrance to the station has been closed, according to the MIVB.

The previous shooting happened around 06:15 on Wednesday in Jorezstraat, near Clemenceau station. Surveillance footage shows two individuals firing an automatic rifle into the air. Authorities believe the incident is linked to the drug scene rather than terrorism. Federal police special intervention units searched the metro tunnels, and a manhunt is ongoing.
