Olympics: SNCB runs four extra trains a day between Brussels and Paris
Belgian rail operator SNCB will run four extra trains a day between Brussels-Midi and Paris until 11 August. Fans will be able to support Team Belgium during the 2024 Olympic Games "at competitive prices", the rail operator says.
From 24 July to 11 August, four extra EuroCity trains will run daily between Brussels-Midi and Paris-Nord, with a stop in Mons. One train will leave for Paris early in the morning and one shortly after midday. In the afternoon and evening, there will also be trains in the opposite direction.
Tickets for these extra trains during the Olympic Games are available at "competitive prices", SNCB says. A single ticket costs 34 euros, while a first-class seat costs 49 euros. Tickets are available on the SNCB International website. Special rates are available for groups of more than 10 people.
Extra train for Paralympics
Extra trains will run during the Paralympic Games from 28 August to 8 September. Every weekday, a train will depart for Paris at 7.02 a.m. and return to Brussels at 6.48 p.m. On weekends, this train will leave for Paris at 7.06 am and return to Brussels-Midi at 7.02 pm.
Tia Hellebaut, who won the high jump gold medal in Beijing in 2008, was present for the departure of the first train to Paris on Wednesday morning.
"The Olympic Games in Paris are not far away and Team Belgium is very good, so let's all go to Paris to support them," said Hellebaut. The Olympic Games begin on Friday.
