Passenger survey ranks Brussels Airlines as world’s best all-round carrier
Brussels Airlines is the best all-round airline in the world, according to AirHelp, an international company that helps passengers with compensation claims against airlines. Qatar Airways had previously been held the top spot for the past six years.
AirHelp bases its ranking on passengers’ experiences with 109 airlines’ customer service, as well as feedback from passengers in 54 countries about the quality of food, comfort and service of the flight crew on their most recent flight, in the past year.
Brussels Airlines scored best overall in the latest survey, moving up from 12th place. US carriers United Airlines and American Airlines are in third and fourth place. Icelandic airline Play is ranked fifth.
The company scored 8.12 out of 10 overall, with 7.8 points for punctuality, 7.9 for customer opinion and 8.7 for claim resolution.
"This is a great reward for all the work of all our colleagues"
“All our teams work very hard day in and day out to be able to give our travellers the best possible experience,” Brussels Airlines spokesperson Nico Cardone told Het Laatste Nieuws. “We have done our best in recent years to improve punctuality, and with results … This is a great reward for all the work of all our colleagues at the airports, on board and in our offices.”
The worst airline in the world according to the passenger survey is Tunisair, Tunisia’s national carrier. Also scoring badly are Buzz, a Polish subsidiary of Ryanair, Bulgaria Air and the Turkish airline PegasusAirlines.
In Airhelp's airport ranking, Brussels Airport ranked 114th out of 239 and Brussels-South Charleroi 158th.
