Political leaders worldwide condemn attack on Donald Trump

Donald Trump, candidate in the upcoming presidential elections in the US, got slightly wounded on Saturday when a young man fired a gun at him. President Biden and political leaders worldwide condemn the attack and the political violence.

Pictures show Trump standing back up after the incident, with blood coming from his right ear. The shooter was shot by security forces. A bystander also died. The wounds of Donald Trump are only minor, the convention to formally nominate the Republican candidate can go ahead as scheduled on Monday/tomorrow.

Quickly, political leaders said they were shocked. Condemnations came from UN secretary general Antoinio Guterres, the prime ministers of the UK, Japan, Hungary, Italy, and president Zelensky from Ukraine. President Biden said political violence is unacceptable and should be condemned by all.
