Protesting farmers expected to cause major traffic disruption in Brussels on Tuesday

Police are expecting major traffic disruptions on Tuesday as a result of farmers protesting in Brussels. Problems could occur early in the day and are expected to last until early evening.

From 6.00, Rue de la Loi between the Schuman roundabout and the inner ring road will be closed, as well as the Reyers tunnel towards the city centre and the Cinquantenaire tunnel towards Rue de la Loi.

Police advise against travelling to Brussels by car and recommend the use of public transport, preferably by metro, train or other means of transport.

According to public transport operator STIB, several bus lines in the European district will be severely disrupted. Lines 12, 21, 36, 56, 59, 60, 64 and 79 will be affected. Several entrances to the Schuman and Maelbeek metro stations will be closed.
