Rail operator European Sleeper to run night train from Brussels to Venice
Long-distance train operator European Sleeper is launching an overnight service to the Alps and Venice next year, the company announced on Tuesday. The first journey will depart from Brussels on 5 February.
Operating twice a week in February and March, the route will link a series of winter sports destinations and popular cities. After Brussels and Antwerp, it will stop in Utrecht, Cologne, Munich, Innsbruck, Verona and Venice. The entire journey will take about 21 hours.
A provisional timetable has been drawn up and European Sleeper says it is working with the authorities to finalise departure and arrival times. Ticket prices will be announced shortly and bookings will open on 1 September.
“This marks a new important milestone for European Sleeper and the convenience of night travel across Europe more sustainably,” said Chris Engelsman, co-founder of European Sleeper, in a press release.
Since May 2023, European Sleeper has been operating a night train service that runs three times a week from Brussels to Prague via Amsterdam and Berlin. It is also working on a new daily connection between Amsterdam and Barcelona.
