Tributes to record-breaker Cayman ahead of crucial European Championship qualifier

The Belgian FA will honour Janice Cayman ahead of the Red Flames’ European Championship qualifying match against Denmark, the association announced on Monday. The 35-year-old midfielder, Belgium's most-capped player, is set to win her 150th cap for the women’s national team in Friday’s match.
Veteran Cayman extended her contract with Leicester City for one season last month. She previously had long spells in France at FCF Juvisy, Montpellier and Olympique Lyonnais and in the US with Florida State Seminoles, Pali Blues and Western New York Flash.
She has also played at two European Championships with the national team and won the Golden Shoe in 2021 for the best Belgian footballer.
Denmark are the opponents in Sint-Truiden on Friday, before the Flames play their final qualifying game against Spain, the unbeaten group leader with 12 points, four days later.
With two games to go, Denmark are second in Group A2 with six points. Belgium are third on four points, ahead of the Czech Republic on one point. The top two in each group qualify for the 2025 European Championships in Switzerland. Third- and fourth-placed teams will face a play-off against teams from the B and C League.
