Rock Werchter announces 18 new names for 2024 festival

The Belgian music festival Rock Werchter has unveiled 18 new acts, including The Pretenders, Tom Odell and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, who will join headliners Dua Lipa and Foo Fighters.

The festival takes place in the village of Werchter from 4 to 7 July. Organisers say the newly announced groups will present a mix of soulful sounds, powerful blues, sharp rock and powerful hip-hop alongside accomplished songwriters and inspiring icons.

On Thursday 4 July, festival-goers will see live performances from The Cat Empire, Jalen Ngonda, Bombay Bicycle Club, guitarist Johnny Marr and folk band Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.

The following day will see the soulful Gary Clark Jr, energetic rock from Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, introspective folk-pop from Tom Odell and vibrant pop from Declan McKenna.

Saturday's line-up includes acts such as Brihang, Cian Cucrot, No Guidnce and Noname. Finally, Sunday will close with The Pretenders, IDLES, Lawrence and Matt Maltese.

More artists will be announced in the coming days.
