Shooting in Antwerp flat leaves three injured
Three people were seriously injured in a shooting in a flat in central Antwerp on Wednesday, according to local police. Two of them are in critical condition. A fourth person involved was arrested unharmed.
One or more of the injured were later found in a car park close to the apartment. The circumstances are being investigated and the cause is not yet known. A forensic laboratory is at the scene to carry out tests.
"I heard three or four shots," Mohsen, who works in the restaurant below the flat, told VRT NWS. "Someone walked in here asking if I could call the ambulance. The police were there within the minute."
The police say it is not yet known who the perpetrator and the victims were. "All four people involved, as far as we know, have been arrested," said spokesperson Wouter Bruyns. "Three of them suffered serious injuries. Who fired a gun and whether there were several guns is part of the investigation."
