SNCB to stop selling international rail tickets at 9 stations
Railway operator SNCB will stop selling international train tickets at nine stations from October. Paper tickets will still be available in 12 stations, the company said.
The ticket offices at Arlon, Eupen, Ottignies, Brussels Luxembourg, Antwerp Berchem, Kortrijk, Hasselt, Mechelen and Ostend will no longer sell tickets for international journeys. Some tickets will still be available from machines.
“Customers are following the broad social trend of digitalisation and online sales,” a spokesperson said.
From 1 October, SNCB will concentrate the physical sale of international tickets in 12 stations: Antwerp Central, Bruges, Brussels Airport Zaventem, Brussels Central, Brussels Midi, Brussels North, Charleroi Central, Ghent-Sint-Pieters, Liège Guillemins, Leuven, Mons and Namur. These offices specialise in selling international tickets and can provide passengers with advice on the products.
