Three people injured in stabbing and shooting in Anderlecht

A fresh wave of violence has hit Anderlecht with two violent incidents reported in one night. The Brussels-South police zone confirmed that both a stabbing and a shooting took place on Wednesday night and early on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday evening, a man was stabbed several times near the McDonald's and Cora shopping centre in Anderlecht. The victim was seriously wounded and taken to hospital. His condition remains unknown and the perpetrator is still at large. The public prosecutor's office has been notified and an investigation is under way.

At approximately 2.30, two people were shot on Rue de la Clinique, close to Clemenceau metro station, the site of several shootings in recent weeks. One person was hit in the calf while the other sustained a shoulder injury and is reportedly in a critical condition.

Police have yet to confirm whether any suspects have been arrested in either incident. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
