Tomorrowland again named world's best dance music festival

Tomorrowland has been named the world’s best dance music festival for the third time in a row by readers of DJ Mag, the magazine announced on Wednesday.

“We are very happy to once again receive this recognition from the public, the festival-goers, the DJ Mag readers,” said the festival’s founders, brothers Manu and Michiel Beers.

More than 100,000 readers voted for their favourite festival and, as in 2019 and 2022, Tomorrowland – the electronic dance music festival held in Boom, Antwerp province – came out on top. There was no poll in the intervening years because of the pandemic.

"The Belgian mega festival has retained its crown, continuing to mesmerise both fans and artists alike with its boundary-pushing stage production, big-name line-ups, and international appeal," DJ Mag said. More than 400,000 people attended this summer's 17th edition, held across two weekends and featuring 750 artists on 16 stages.

"What once started as a dream gained wings thanks to the tireless efforts of a passionate young team"

Second place went to Ultra Music Festival in Miami, while the UK's Glastonbury was third. Tomorrowland Winter, held in the French Alps, was ranked 70th. No other Belgian festivals appeared in the top 100.

“What once started as a dream gained wings thanks to the tireless efforts of a passionate young team as well as the enthusiasm and unconditional support of the Tomorrowland community, the People of Tomorrow,” the brothers said. “We are already looking forward to the 20th anniversary next year, but now we’re getting ready for our return to Brazil in a few weeks.”

The Brazilian edition of Tomorrowland takes place in October in Itu in the southern state of Sao Paulo. All 180,000 tickets for the event have already sold out. The bill includes Belgian acts Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Lost Frequencies and Netsky.
