Van der Poel secures seventh cyclocross world title, Van Aert takes silver

Mathieu van der Poel dominated the UCI Cyclocross World Championships in Liévin, France, securing his seventh cyclocross world title and third in a row. Wout van Aert finished second after a strong comeback, while Thibau Nys took bronze.
Van der Poel now shares the record for most cyclocross world titles with Erik De Vlaeminck. The Dutch rider seized control early in the race, breaking away in the first minutes and maintaining his lead. Van Aert lost time at the start but worked his way through the field to claim silver.
Van der Poel won his first cyclocross world title in 2015. After three victories by Van Aert in 2016, 2017 and 2018, he won every championship he competed in since 2019, except for 2022, when Britain's Tom Pidcock took gold in his absence. He took silver in 2017 and bronze in 2018.
