WECANDANCE festival clocks 60,000 visitors, despite rainy start
The beach festival WECANDANCE in Zeebrugge welcomed 60,000 visitors over the past two weekends, the organisers announced at the end of the event on Sunday evening. Saturday 12 August was a record day with 18,500 visitors.
"The fourth and final day closed the 10th edition in style with 13,500 visitors, bringing the total number of festival goers to 60,000," said the organisers. "Despite the weather and its challenges on the first weekend, our expectations were exceeded with a record number of visitors. We are particularly proud that, despite the challenges, we were able to provide a safe festival experience for everyone."
"Diplo's performance created an unforgettable atmosphere for the closing of the festival"
At around midday on Saturday, the first sounds of the second weekend's DJ sets echoed across the beach in Zeebrugge. Sets by Satori, Hakimm, Axel Boman and Chamos were scheduled throughout the day. Sunday's highlight was a set by Diplo. "His performance created an unforgettable atmosphere for the closing of the festival," said the organisers.
Next year WECANDANCE will take place again on the first two weekends in August.
